White paper boards with author's pictorial in delicate watercolor of 'Bear'. Green lettering on front cover and spine. Spine on hardcover on outside has several rips in paper in the hinge area. Otherwise, binding is tight. No marks or defects of inside text.
This was Geoffrey Hayes' first published title. This title has been re-issued, but the reprint lacks the delicacy and simplicity of Hayes' watercolors throughout the book.
A landmark publication for the time, the work denoted the importance of 'alone time' for children.
DJ is in VG condition, with some edge wear to margins, otherwise free of defects, slight small stain on front of DJ (looks like a coffee stain!). See photo. Original price of $4.95 intact. Mylar protected.
