Collated, complete.First published in 1924, Wren's enormously popular adventure novel about three English brothers who enlist separately in the French Foreign Legion following the theft of a valuable jewel from the country house of a relative. Set prior to the first world war, it has been adapted for the screen several times.With the inscription of John Howard to the front free endpaper. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, fine. Spotting to fore edge of text block. Front hinge strained but holding firm. Former owner's inscription to front free endpaper. Dust wrapper back strip lightly age toned, with light marks to front wrap. Light edgewear to back strip head and tail. Internally, firmly bound. Significant spotting to first and last few pages, otherwise generally clean and bright. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
