Original decorated green cloth, gilt titling to the front board and the spine, top edge gilt. Minor rubbing to the extremities of the binding, light foxing of the preliminary pages, else this is a bright, very good copy. Part of the 6 shilling series of A&C Black colour books. Inman 276. This is the scarcest of the 6 shilling books; it was cut down from a book originally published in the 20 shilling series, and only 1700 copies were issued.

An unnumbered copy from a limited edition of 1000 sets. Cloth reinforced inner hinges with green faux-moire endpapers, top edge gilt, 79 color plates with captioned tissue guards. Although there is a faint one-inch dampstain along the outer edge of the front board, this is a sound copy of one of the scarcer titles in the series. Illustrations by Francis S. Walker.
