First book of poetry. Judge was Robert Pinsky. Richman worked for SF Gate and taught at the Academy of Art until becoming embroiled in a controversy over a student's composition which resulted in the student's expulsion and her firing. She was defended by Stephen King, Salman Rushdie and Alan Kaufman.
