Sobre este artículo
London: The "Pall Mall" Press, 1907 Hard cover, 16mo, (measuring 5 x 7 1/2 inches), in apricot colored cloth, titles in gilt to front board and spine, 64pp. Condition: Very Good Minus. Slight soiling to covers, one dent at bottom edge. Mild foxing throughout. Blindstamped London bookshop stamp to ffep. Signs of reglueing at back hinge. **Considered a classic work on beekeeping by the multi-talented vicar, naturalist and author, Tickner Edwardes (1865-1944) of Burpham, West Sussex, England. He was also a Fellow of the Entomological Society, London. The book contains a series of essays, ripe with lyrical descriptions, on the art of bee-keeping in the persona of "The Bee-Master" of Warrilow, a quaint English village on the Sussex Downs. This was the first of this material in book form, having been adapted from items previously printed in the Pall Mall Gazette. The photographs look like something out of a Merchant Ivory production. Edwardes also wrote a novel, Tansy, which became a silent film. The author's bee house is listed in the History of Beekeeping in English Gardens, The Gardens Trust, 2000. A scarce book.. Hard Cover. Very Good Minus.
