Volume one includes thirty-nine plates and text figures and diagrams throughout the text. Collated complete. Volume two includes eighty-seven plates of text figures and diagrams throughout the text. Collated complete. Each volume includes four pages of blank notes pages to the rear. These volumes form, part of the Wayside and Woodland series which has long been popular with the field naturalist who requires a reference book small enough to be carried. These books include a detailed amount of information accompanied by useful illustrations. In the original publisher's cloth in the original unclipped dust wrappers. Externally very smart. A small amount of loss to the rear cover of the dust wrapper. Archival wrap has adhered to the dust wrappers. Damp stain to the reverse of volume one Internally firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Contemporary gift inscription on the first leaf. Near Fine

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
