Inscribed on title page. Embossed stamp of former owner on fep. DJ has wear, soiling, tears and chips. Some highlighting and ink marks noted. The author was drafted into the German Army in 1942. He was decorated for bravery. He became an officer. He was captured and became a Prisoner of War under American control. In 1955 he emigrated from Europe to North America. This book was written for family and friends. This is an honest account of a human being caught in the horror of a period not generally experiences by people outside of wartime Germany.
