On Truman's vetoes of the Income Tax Reduction Bill and the Taft-Hartley Bill. The "Democrat columnist," Frank R. Kent, argues that "the dishonest, violent, highly organized, highly financed campaign [against Taft-Hartley] put on by the CIO, the AFL, the Communists, the professional liberal groups and the 'bleeding-heart' journalists scared Mr. Truman.
