Soiling/discoloration outer edge of pages and light watermark stain/wrinkling to bottom corner of numerous pages. Pages otherwise clean and intact, with some age tanning to pages and covers. " Adano was a small Italian town , and its heart was a 700-year-old bell. Farmers set off to their fields, bakers make their bread, and the faithful went to church by its resonant ringing. At the outbreak of the war, the Fascists took the bell to a factory in Milan to melt it down for guns and ammunition. " (140os) ; 16mo 6" - 7" tall .
Sinopsis
A Bell for Adano is a film directed by Henry King starring John Hodiak and Gene Tierney. The film was adapted from the novel A Bell for Adano by John Hersey, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1945. The story concerns Italian-American U.S. Army Major Joppolo, who is placed in charge of the town of Adano during the invasion of Sicily.
