Edges of boards show wear, several corners are dented, and upper front edge has two 1/8 inch tears (at head). Interior pages are foxed and fore-edge has a few small stains. Original owner's name in pen on front endpaper. Plenty of shelf-wear (abrasion, chips, minimal soiling and tears) to corners and edges of clipped dust jacket. Sticker and residue; otherwise, a crisp copy. A comprehensive history of bells and bell-ringing from the earliest time, throughout the world. Full of anecdotes for anyone interested in campanology. First edition, first printing. Illustrated with B&W photographs and line drawings. Includes index, notes.
