He was the first most popular American author who tried to get income by just writing, making him financially deprived in his life and career. </br></br>He was born in Boston, the second child of two actors. His father left them in 1810, and his mother died the next year. Abandoned, Edgar was brought by John and Frances Allan of Richmond, Virginia. They were not able to properly adopt him, but he was with them raised well into young adolescent. </br></br>Edgar and his writings inspired literature in the United States and all over the globe, also in scientific fields including cosmology and cryptography. Edgar and his writings were presented in famous culture in literature, music, movies, and television. Many of his homes are devoted museums in the present time. The Mystery Writers of America offered a yearly award called as the Edgar Award for distinctive work in the mystery genre.
