Sobre este artículo
London: Edward Moxon, 1841-1846. First edition. Hardcover. Octavo, 16, [2]-20, 16, 20, 16, 20, 24, 32 pages. In Very Good condition. Bound in full dark purple morocco with gilt titling and ornamentation to spine and gilt ruling to boards. Binding shows light plus wear, most notably at hinges and edges, with fading to spine and top of boards. All text block edges gilt and gauffered. Marbled endpapers with elaborately tooled turn ins. Text block shows light plus age toning and foxing. This copy is unusual in that all parts, including Part V, are first edition. Generally, in bound collections of all eight parts, Part V is found in its second edition form. Shelved case 0. Robert Browning (1812-1889) was a British poet. Though his reputation as a poet varied over the course of his life, he was widely respected and celebrated by the time of his death. Critically, he is most widely praised for his monologue poems, but one of his best-known poems remains "The Pied Piper of Hamelin," which first appeared in Part III of Bells and Pomegranates. Browning was the husband of fellow poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning. 1377519. Shelved Dupont Bookstore.
