Phantom Bookshop, 2011. A restored facsimile dust jacket for the first Grosset & Dunlap Lew Wallace Memorial Edition (pre-1910) of Ben-Hur - The book itself measures 7-1/4 inches in height and has the illustrated end papers of The Star of Bethleham and Christ healing the mother and daughter. The book is gray green cloth with Ben Hur in gold inside of a diamond design on the front board. The jacket was restored by artist John Anthony Miller and archival ink and special paper were used. Jacket comes trimmed and enclosed in a mylar jacket protector, ready to put on the book. Please see the photograph. As in all our facsimile dust jackets, the verso of the jacket has an affixed label, stating such, signed by the artist-restorer John Anthony Miller. If your book is slightly different in height or dimensions, we can modify it to fit your book..

Phantom Bookshop was established in 1993 by bookman and artist John Anthony Miller and located there for eight years in Downtown Ventura at 451 E. Main St in Ventura, California. Many famous authors and celebrities signed there and was a top favorite bookshop of Ray Bradbury's. We specialize used and rare books, unusual material and signed books with an emphasis on the unique, sci fi and fantasy, first editions, scientific and medical. We also have a nice selection of high quality facsimile dust jackets done etching and engraving artist John Anthony Miller (all jackets are marked tastefully that they are facsimile jackets, printed on high quality non acidic paper using the finest inks that will last a lifetime with care). Phantom Bookshop relocated in 2000 as an internet business.
