Rider Haggard, with the original, vanishingly scarce dust wrapper. Bound in the publisher's original cloth, with the original, unclipped and vanishingly scarce dust wrapper. Popular edition. 'Benita' was first published in 1906. Written by Sir Henry Rider Haggard, an English writer of adventure fiction romances set in exotic locations and a pioneer of the lost world literary genre. 'Benita' tells the romantic adventure of Benita, a clairvoyant, as she assists in the hunt for long lost Portuguese treasure in the Transvaal. In the publisher's cloth binding, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with light shelf wear. Light offsetting to endpapers, with an ink inscription to the front endpaper. Light spotting to fore edge. Dust wrapper is very good, with light edge wear and the odd closed tear. Larger tears to the head and tail of the joints, with slight loss to the head of the front joint. The odd mark to wraps, with sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
