Berkeley, CA: Red Mountain Tribe, 1970. Newspaper. Sixty three issues of the underground newspaper, spanning the period from July 1969 to December 19, 1970, various pagination, folded tabloid underground newspapers with news, opinion, events, calls to action, underground comix, posters, local ads, photos, evenly toned, some light wear, address labels and occasional stains and marks else very good on newsprint. Issues present are Vol. 1 Nos. 1-25, Vol. 2 Nos. 1-5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 14, 18-24, 26, and 27 and Vol. 3 Nos. 2-6, 8-12, 14-17, 19, 20, 22, 23 and 25 (incorrectly labeled as Vol. 2). The paper was put out by the former staff of the Berkeley Barb. The first issue was titled "Barb On Strike" published July 1969. The second issue was the first use of the Berkeley Tribe Banner and the cover features nude group photo of the Tribe staff raising clenched fists and displaying much body hair and perkiness!
