Sobre este artículo

In one Lot - Berliner Illustrirte Zeitung, (Berlin, Ullstein A.G.), issues for 7 May (No. 19), 14 May (No. 20) , 21 May (No. 21) and 28 May (No. 22) 1936. 280 x 380 mm. The newspapers are complete and in reasonably well preserved condition for their age, with the paper naturally age-toned, a few edge chips, tears and marks to the non-printed area of some pages; and a previous owner's [original subscriber's ?] name discreetly and lightly written in pencil at the top of the back page. The newspaper text is German language.

The lot compromises:

14 May 1936 [Vol 45, No. 20]: 40 pages, The cover photo is of Joachim von Ribbentrop "the Fuehrer's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, whose life is recounted in a photo story inside the paper". Also in this issue: "5 days lost in the desert"; "Munich-Berlin 396 minutes" - a story on the opening of an express rail connection; "Arctic spring with flowers and butterflies"; a double-page spread on Libya; short fiction, cartoons and more. Text in German language. This issue also contains the first instalment of the serialised novel Die gelbe Flagge (The Yellow Flag) by Fred Andreas that was first published in this newspaper and from which a popular German movie adaptation was made in 1937.

7 May [Vol 45, No. 19]: 40 pages. The cover photo heralds "The Theater Plane" - Deutsche Lufthansa has set up a "theater line" that enables people from Halle and Leipzig to visit the Berlin theater and return on the same evening. Inside, photo story: "The Fuhrer left the Deutsches Operahaus in Charlottenburg after the opening of the Reichsculturechamber." Also in this issue: May Day event in Berlin, 1936 - flag parade at the beginning of the May Day rally in the Lustgarten in Berlin.

20 May [Vol 45, No. 21]: 44 pages Cover: A day with the war students in Potsdam, inside: the Hindenburg baggage march - SA Leipzig wins the Führer's prize; Goebbels gives a speech at the rally of the Reich Theater Chamber; German racers at the desert race in Tripoli. Note: the front page graphic pointing to the Die gelbe Flagge serial inside appears to have been colored with a yellow pencil.

28 May [Vol 45, No. 22]: 44 pages: Cover features the return of subathing and suntanning; inside includes Mussolini waiting for the arrival of his two eldest sons and his son-in-law who took part in the Abyssinian campaign; Cecilia Colledge, the best ice skater in the world; pictures of the situation in Austria.
