Minimal university library markings and condition suggests the book saw very limited circulation. "For most of his career Murry was a prolific working journalist: reviews of books, longer articles in a variety of periodicals, and his own books. In a total output of 68 books, only three novels, two books of verse, one play, and one long satirical poem were imaginative writing. But none of these works has the power or the originality of the best of his criticism, or the best of his writings of religious and social thought as listed in this enumerative bibliography.
