The first edition of this work was issued in 1861 at which time the Compiler had not the opportunity of consulting sufficient authorities which a work of this nature required but had mainly to rely upon such as he possessed in his own library Since that time he has been enabled to add considerably to the information contained therein by the addition of numerous particulars to the works there enumerated and has also recorded some 300 more works connected with the Isle of Man or that particularly allude to it. Some pages remain uncut. We also have for sale the original 1861 first edition of this work. Revised & enlarged. Size: Octavo (standard book size). 312 pages. Some ink spots & other marks to covers (mainly rear); hand-written list of other Manx Society publications to rear end-paper. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Gilt titles spine with gilt Manx coat of arms within blind-stamped decorative borders front & rear covers. a few pages have been carelessly cut leaving pieces attached & facing chips (to top edges only). brown cloth.
