Nouvelle edition revue, corrigee & considerablement augmentee par M. Fevret De Fontette, Conseiller au Parlement de Dijon, Tome Troisieme." This 1771 "Nouvelle edition" is a major 18th century bibliography, considerably revised and expanded from the 1719 first edition. It is cited in Sabin's Bibliography of Bibliographies, xci; Besterman 2292-93; Brunet II, 958-959; Peignot 5056-7; and Vallee no. 3862. Sabin says this is "perhaps the most laborious and most able bibliographical work which has ever appeared. It is scarcely possible to find a volume or a manuscript in any way connected with French history which is not fully described, and it frequently gives curious details respecting English historians." According to Brunet: "This work is one of the most essential productions which bibliographic science has put forth..." With abundant annotations and cross-references. At the end of this volume is: "Memoires historiques sur plusieurs historiens modernes de France" (cvii -- 107 pages). Oversize Hardcover. 10.75" wide by 15.75" tall by 2.75" thick (27cm x 40 cm x 7 cm). Oversize Hardcover (Folio). Good - Very Good condition. Illus. by NOT a library discard. (viii), 850pp. + cvii. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping.

Sobre About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of over 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialties listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you wish to visit us to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please, only between the hours of 8am and 10pm (west coast time).
