First edition, second state with following issue points: "First Edition" is stated by itself, on its own line, on the very bottom of copyright page. Binding is blue cloth with a gold design that stencils the title and author name on the front. There are two states, neither of which hold priority over the other. On the title page of State 1, the "Y" in DOUBLEDAY is directly below the "T" in GARDEN CITY. On the title page of State 2, the "Y" in DOUBLEDAY is directly below the "TY" in GARDEN CITY. This copy is the second state. The book measures 5" x 7.5", 360 pages. The book is in good condition. Rubbing to the boards and label on the front board. Sunning, creasing, and staining to the spine with fraying at the front joint. The hinges are cracked. Previous owner's small signature in pencil on the front leaf. Bookstore's sticker on the rear paste-down. The textblock is gently toned, largely clean, unmarked, and complete. The binding is starting.
