Garden City, New York: Doubleday & Company, 1949. This book club edition is in Fine, unread condition with a close to Fine dust jacket (click on photo). This science fiction classic concerns earth's last days as it's about to collide with another planet, and how individuals as well as nations prepare for the end, regaining their values and humanity in the process. The book book is bound in green cloth with red spine titles and top-edge red stain. The binding is tight and pages are clean, bright, and sparkling throughout. The dust jacket has a tiny closed tear and light shelf rubbing at the bottom edge. I've placed the dust jacket into a Brodart protective sleeve. The book measures 5 3/4 by 8 1/2 inches and includes 221 pages.. Hard Cover. Fine/Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
