The first edition, first impression of the thirty-fourth book in William Earl Johns' 'Biggles' series, here in the publisher's original unclipped dust wrapper. James Bigglesworth, nicknamed "Biggles", is a fictional pilot and adventurer, the title character and hero of the Biggles series of children's adventure books. The series eventually included nearly a hundred volumes novels as well as short story collections spanning both world wars, and publication of new adventures did not cease until Johns' death in 1968.This volume features charming colour illustrations from illustrator Leslie Stead, who worked on many of the works in the series.With a single page publisher's advertisement to the rear. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, exceptionally bright, with bumping to spine head and tail. Chipping to dust wrapper back strip tail, with loss to head. Edge wear to head and tail of front wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
