Sobre este artículo
New Castle, Delaware: Oak Knoll Books, 1989. Hardcover. Near fine/Near fine. Limited to 500 copies. A reissue of the author's first book, published in 1932, with the companion volume published six years later. "Carter's research into publishers' bindings starts with the introduction of cloth as a binding medium around 1820. He traces the history of the development of the bindings with emphasis on how detective work can often yield interesting conclusions on the priority of issue for both the bibliographer and collector. The general study is followed by specific examples of his research applied to an array of nineteenth century first editions." Octavo. Full blue leatherette binding, with gilt titles. A near fine copy in a near fine dust jacket with just a hint of edgewear.
