David Cox (1783-1859) was an English landscape painter and early precursor of Impressionism. His watercolour works were his most popular, and he is still widely seen as being one of the greatest English landscape painters. His works include 'Rhyl Sands', 'A Train on a Viaduct', 'Boys Fishing' and 'Bolton Abbey'.In the publisher's original cloth binding.The half title page and frontispiece portrait of the subject are loose, but present.A first edition of this biography, written by William Hall. Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
