Norwalk, CT: Easton Press. Near Fine. 1979. Hardcover. First presented in Athens in 414 BC, these two plays are bound together in this volume. "The Birds" has an introduction by Dudley Fitts and is illustrated by Marian Parry. "The Frogs" was translated by William James Hickie with an introduction provided by Gilbert Seldes. This book is beautifully bound in a full greem leather binding with 22 kt gold spine and cover decorations. The spine has four raised bands with five decorated compartments. The end papers are green silk moire, and there is also a green silk ribbon bookmark. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings. There are no owner bookplates or owner names in the book. This is a very pretty book the the appropriate bird motif on the front and rear covers that would make a fine addition to any library. ; 100 Greatest Books Ever Written Series; B&W Illustrations; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 52, 82 pages .
