This is a beautiful oversize book filled with illustrations and text that describe two hundred birds that nest in Michigan are included in this book; there are 115 full-page color illustrations that were contributed by five wildlife artists. 400 bird species that have been counted in Michigan are mentioned in detailed text. Contains an index and a bibliography in the rear. Any birder or naturalist will want this book. Original rose cloth covers with gilt and blue spine lettering and decoration. There is a previous owner's Mother's Day gift card which has been taped to a preliminary blank page in the front with about a 2" piece of scotch tape (which could carefully be removed). This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings with the exception of a short, three line previous owner's gift dedication on the front free end paper. The dust jacket has torn at the spine and a strip is missing from the bottom rear.
