This is a special printing of Silas Weir Mitchell's poem, which was originally published in The Semi-Centennial of Anaesthesia Oct. 16, 1846-Oct. 16, 1896 by Massachusetts General Hospital. Mitchell [1829 - 1914] was both a physician and a writer and received acclaim for both. Folded to 8 x 11.5", 8 pp, sewn at binding, thick cream paper, black text, cover sunned, interior crisp and clean.
