Sobre este artículo

[New York]: Self Published, 1977. First Edition. 60 pp. 8.5” x 8”. VG or better stapled orange illustrated wraps designed by Joanne Bethea (sunning to spine, lower corner crease, rubbing). The author’s first book of poetry. Hatchett, born and raised in Michigan, participated in the Greensboro civil rights movement in the early 1960s. In July of 1968, “Hatchett was appointed director of the Afro-American Student Center at New York University, but was dismissed three months later amid claims of anti-semitism in his 1967 article “The Phenomenon of the Anti-Black Jews and the Black Anglo-Saxon: A Study in Educational Perfidy” (https://crdl.usg.edu/people/hatchett_john_f). In a section entitled “About These Poems,” Hatchett writes, “There is rage here. There is disgust evidenced against the putrefaction of Black niggers who are determined to assist whites in their efforts to niggerize the earth.” Poems include “Ode to an Un-Thinking Nigger,” “Black Love,” “Blackness and Raison d’Etre,” “White Blackness and Black Blackness,” “Black Intimacy,” and “White Incarnate Evil.” No copies in commerce with 9 U.S. holdings per OCLC.
