Sobre este artículo
London: Jonathan Cape, 1982. 1st. hardback. Fine, 1st edition, unclipped d/j (v.g.); olive green boards and gilt spine titling bright; text block firm, pages unmarked and crisp.. 8vo (230 x 150 / 9"" x 6""). Chatwin's novel won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for 1982, and was made into a film in 1987 (directed by Andrew Grieve). Set on the border between England and Wales, which quite literally reuns through the farmhouse at the narrative's centre. A tale of identical twin brothers who grow up on a farm and never leave home. They till the rough soil and sleep in the same bed, touched only occasionally by the advances of the twentieth century. In depicting the lives of Benjamin and Lewis and their interactions with their small local community Chatwin comments movingly on the larger questions of human experience.
