First edition, first impression. 128pp. In green cloth-covered boards with gilt titles. 12mo. Cloth very slightly worn at corners and spine ends. Text block edges have hint of toning. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original, illustrated, dust jacket, a little bumped at edges, small nick and crease along upper edge, minor shelf wear on verso. A tender and ironic tale, one of Thomas Mann's later stories.
