The title reads in full: "An intimate account of the family life of the Arabs of Syria, their manner of living in, desert & town, their hospitality, customs, & mental attitude, with a description of the animals, birds, flowers & plants of their country."

Adela Monica Goodrich-Freer Spoer (1870-1931) was an author who initially wrote under her maiden name of A. Goodrich-Freer, and then under her married name of A. M. Spoer.

Red hard covers with title on cover in gilt. Cast lists for 1877 and 1884..

This Parisian music publishing company originated in 1846 as Brandus & Cie. when Louis Brandus purchased the publisher Maurice Schlesinger.

In October 1850 Louis's younger brother, Gemmy, became a partner, and the firm of Troupenas was acquired. In 1854 Sélim-François Dufour became a partner and the firm was known as G. Brandus, Dufour & Cie. and, since 1858, as G. Brandus & S. Dufour.

There are 3 embossed stamps of Duncan Davison and Co. The office of the Musical World. 244 Regent Street, where he worked1863 to 1885.

Embossed in gold with the coat of arms of the Princely Palace of Monaco and the words `Theatre de Monte Carlo 14 Mars 1897.` This was a presentation copy for the premier performance on 14 mars 1897 in Monte-Carlo, with the famous baritone Victor Maurel Van Dyck, Bellincioni, Boudouresque, and Bouvet. 28 x 20 cms. 201 pp. Excellent condition.
