Most of the women included in the present work are not well-known historical figures, so this is a valuable source of information on women whose histories might be otherwise undocumented. Winona Evans Reeves (1871 – 1955) was a journalist, an editor, and the vice resident of the National Federation of Press Women between 1939 and 1941. She was also a member of the American Association of University Women, Daughters of American Revolution, and served as the vice president of the Illinois Woman's Press Association between 1940 and 1941. She also published the Blue Book of Nebraska Women (1916).
