Black grained boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine; debossed decorations and state seal on the front board. Clean internals. Interior hinges are sound and not split. 871 pp 8vo. Before the Internet this book was the onl source of information on the Illinois government. This book is an exhaustive guide covering every department of the executive, legislative and judicial branches of the state; The sixty fourth general assembly and its members; Libraries in Illinois; Education in Illinois; City of Chicago; Abraham Lincoln chronology; How counties were named; and numerous others.
