An atmospheric view of the majestic Blue Mountains, by the celebrated Australian artist, James Northfield (1887 - 1973). Northfield was the subject of the 2006 volume by the National Library of Australia (Michelle Hetherington) titled 'James Northfield and the Art of Selling Australia'. Northfield's work is prized for its draftsmanship & design, and a distinctly Australian sense of color and light. A foreground of a dramatically red lit gum tree and rocks gives way to a vista of the pink and purple toned angular Blue Mountains, with a greenish sky.
