Light green cloth with dark green rules and lettering and large color plate on front board, pictorial stamping, pictorial dust jacket. 244pp, (8pp ads). Frontispiece, 3 full-page plates. Very good/very good. Mild binding edgewear; bit of jacket edgewear and age toning. Tight and quite nice later printing of the ninth volume in the popular 72-volume "Bobbsey Twins" series, begun in 1904 and concluded in 1979. Front jacket flap lists to 15th title ("County Fair," published 1922 -- thus approximately dating this edition), while interior list cites up to 10th title and rear ad lists up to 13th title. A sharp copy in attractive jacket.

From the book:"Oh, there comes my skate off again! Freddie, have you got any paste in your pocket?" "Paste, Flossie! What good would paste be to fasten on your skate?" "I don't know, but it might do some good. I can't make the strap hold it on any more," and a plump little girl shook back her flaxen, curling hair, which had slipped from under her cap and was blowing into her eyes, sat down on a log near the shore of the frozen lake and looked sorrowfully at the shining skate which had become loosened from her shoe.
