Signed. 2 softcover volumes in hard slipcase. Body of Clay is the story of Richard Bresnahan and creating the pottery at St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. After apprenticing in Japan, Bresnahan returned to his old school and created a world renowned kiln and pottery studio. Coupled with this book is 'Stoked: Five Artists of Fire and Clay" published by Saint John's University Press in 2010 (ISBN 9780974099262). Both books have lots of beautiful color photography of pottery and ceramic sculpture. The author, Matthew Welch, is the curator of Japanese and Korean art at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. The softcover books are in fine condition and encased in a fine, hard, cloth covered slip case. Bresnahan has signed and inscribed each book with a long personal statement to a patron (each inscription is different). [ I also have some Bresnahan pottery available ]
