Sobre este artículo

London: A. & C. Black, 1912. 255 pp, 9" H. Blue cloth with gilt lettering on spine, black lettering on front board, green, pink and black floral decorations (thistles on spine, thistles and heather on front board). 75 colour plates with tissue covers bearing captions (collated). "The author does not attempt elaborate word-pictures that would seem pale beside the artist's colouring. His design has been, as accompaniment to these beautiful landscapes, an outline of Scotland's salient features, with glimpses at its history, national character, and customs, and at the literature that illustrates this country for the English-speaking world. The mainland only is dealt with in this volume, which it is intended to follow up with another on the Highlands and Islands." Chapter headings: The Borders; Auld Reekie; The Trossach Road; The Kingdom of Fife; The Fair City; The Highland Line; "Aberdeen Awa'!"; To John o' Groat's House; The Great Glen; Glasgow and the Clyde; The Whig Country; Galloway. Light toning to endpapers, colour plate opposite page 152 has fore-edge wear/creasing and a few tiny stains at top corner - tissue guard has fore-edge creasing/wear/tiny tears and chips, colour plate opposite page 122 has two very small areas of green printing ink in margin with some offset on tissue guard, some light foxing between pages 47 & 49 including a colour plate/tissue, light browning to edges of text block including a few very small foxing marks, light edge wear, light rubbing and some light discolouration on boards, darkening to the spine colour, light wrinkling at top/bottom of spine.
