Illustrated with mono printed examples of ornamental borders and panels on both sets of endpapers and from pages 5 to 67. These are followed by 19 pages of various coloured paper which have been printed with colour pattern. A beautiful book in fine condition in the publishers red cloth with gilt lettering and decorations to the spine and front board. In an early, possibly original, plain glassine wrapper which is a bit torn and creased but has done its job of protecting the book.

The Skeptical Press. El Cerrito, California. USA. 2000 - 2007. LIMITED EDITIONS, signed by Reisbord. Various sizes, formats and shapes. A collection of 25 examples of hand printed and constructed book and paper art, each number 24 of limited editions of 60 copies, plus 11 items of Skeptical Press ephemera, including subscription reminders, envelopes and memos, all hand printed at the press. Housed in a purpose made archive box, constructed by Coriander Reisbord in 2005 and with a printed list of the Press titles from 2000 to 2004 mounted to the inner panel of the lid, covered in green cloth and with a printed label to the front. The box measures 9.9 x 7.8 x 2.7 inches, the works within all vary in size and format. A wonderful and varied collection of interesting works by one of America's most talented paper artists and printers of the modern era.

Portland, Maine:: Rebecca Goodale,, 2002.. Edition of 10. 11 x 16.5" with three section compound binding. Hand colored silk-screen prints with collage. This book's pages are composed of portraits of the fifteen birds listed by the state of Maine as Threatened or Endangered.

London: Longman & Co, 1848. First edition. Hardcover. Very good. 8vo. iv,(1),31,(2)pp. Thirty-two pages are chromolithographed by Humphreys, in addition there is a leaf of the illuminator' s remarks and one comprising an index of the miracles. Bound in the original black papier-mache covers designed to look like carved ebony. The binding was based on one carved in ivory in the 12th Century and has medallions of the principal miracles intertwined with ornate decorations and the title. The front and rear covers are identical. The book is exuberantly illustrated using chromolithography on 32 pages alternating between hot bright colors and cool pages subtly tinted with various shades, the whole combining to make both a magnificent tribute to Medieval illustration and to the then new and novel technique of chromolithography. Marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Nicely rebacked in plain black leather;; a few small cracks in the binding, edges and corners neatly mended, but a very good copy. The Art of… Leer más
