London: Penguin Books, 1950. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 12mo. Pictorial paper boards, in matching dust jacket. 80 pp., 64 pp. B&W photo plates (separately paginated). Slight tilting to spine, light bumping to spine ends and corners. Staining to top edge of text block. Dust jacket has small chips to spine ends, short tear to head of rear cover, rubbing to joints. Mr. R.W. Symonds is recognized as the foremost authority on the history of clocks and clock cases in England. His King Penguin Book first published in 1947 is now presented in a new, considerably revised and altered form. In approximately half the cases Mr. Symonds has replaced plates shown in the first edition by others, either because new and more perfect photographs have become available, or because clocks have, in the meantime, been discovered which need inclusion in his book.
