Illustrator: Various. some of the illustrators include Gilbert Bayes, Evelyn Paul, Willy Pogany, Gertrude Steele and Nancy Smith. The dust jacket as can be seen is torn at the top left of the front panel with minor loss, and rub and is price clipped. Internally, very bright, very clean and without foxing. all 32 of the plates are present, and are reproduced in both black and white, and colour. The Greek epics, the Latin epics, French epics, Spanish, Portuguese Italian, British Isles (including Paradise lost and regained), German epics and ethics of the Netherlands and Scandinavia, Russia and Finland, Central Europe and the Balkans, Hebrew and early Christian, Arabian and Persian, Indian, Chinese and Japanese poetry and just to keep the Americans happy the song of Hiawatha. The book is indexed. the dark green cloth has gilt titles on the spine and blind stamping on the edges of the front panel. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 632 pages.
