London: Smith, Elder and Co, 1861. Hardcover. Very Good. xii, 167, [1] p.: frontispiece, 3 leaves of plates; 19 cm. Contemporary half green polished calf with gilt- and blue-marbled paper over boards. Six spine compartments between raised bands; red leather labels in the second and third compartments with gilt-tooled title and author. Gilt-tooled decoration in remaining compartments. Top page edges gilt. Gilt- and blue-marbled endpapers. In Very Good Condition: as is usual with green calf, the spine is faded to brown; front board has been sensitively reattached by a conservator; older archival repair to gutter between half title and frontispiece; occasional minimal foxing along fore-edges; clean and tight.
