Sobre este artículo
New York: The Grolier Society, 1950. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition, First Printing.. New York: The Grolier Society, 1950. First Edition, First Printing. Very Good/Good. Clean hardcover book in scarce original illustrated dust jacket. Brown leather-like boards with raised lettering on cover, gold lettering on spine. No fading, bumping or wear. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound - no cracking. Clean, beautifully illustrated (in color) endpapers. First ten pages have very faint water stain for fore-edges, otherwise all pages are clean with amazing, amusing and remarkable historical photographs from that era. 424 pages. Color illustrated dust jacket has edge chips, one 3" closed tear, 1" piece missing at base of spine, and yet it is still remarkably intact and evocative of the year 1950. Now enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. More than 100 important men and women of the time inform on what was new in the world in 1950 in this well-illustrated book. In the field of international events, Eleanor Roosevelt and Trygve Lie report on the United Nations. Sir Edward Appleton, Nobel Prize winner, and many other noted scientists tell of then latest triumphs of science. Sports fans will like the contributions of Tommy Henrich, the New York yankees' World Series hero; Lou Little, the outstanding football coach, and Dick Button, the world's champion amateur figure skater of the time. World events, radio, television, music, transportation, animals, strange and foreign lands, books, gems, art--all the things that made up life in 1950 are presented here..
