Signed by Milan Kundera and inscribed to a former owner in the year of publication on the half-title page. Bound in publisher's original paper boards over brown cloth spine stamped in gilt. Near Fine with light toning to edges of boards, faint foxing to textblock edge, preliminary and terminal pages. In a Near Fine unclipped dust jacket with light shelf wear, light tanning and several short edge tears. Signed copies are scarce.
Sinopsis
The Book of Laughter and Forgetting is a novel by Milan Kundera, published in 1979. It is composed of seven separate narratives united by some common themes. The book considers the nature of forgetting as it occurs in history, politics and life in general. The stories also contain elements found in the genre of Magical Realism.
