Sobre este artículo
Howell, Soskin, Publishers, 1947. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Robinson, Thomas P.. Copyright 1947. First Edition per no other printings noted. Hard cover in very good condition with navy boards; on spine navy lettering in gold gilt panel and gold gilt lettering on blue portions of spine. Not ex-library, however had an aged Brodart cover which was taped on. Tape was dried out and easily fell off but light ghost of the tape can be seen on the boards. Jacket now sports a new Brodart jacket. Interior text block clean & tight with mellow age toning to the papers. No writing, no markings, no underlining noted. There is a blue spot on bottom text block and on bottom edges of jacket, especially verso, which appears to be color that bled from navy board at some point. Interior pages not affected. Dust jacket very good with age toning; light shadows indicate perhaps a water stain at front top and front bottom corner (see photo.) Not price clipped; original price $3.50. Illustrations by Thomas P. Robinson throughout text; last page lists details of those illustrations of houses and places of historical interest. 292 numbered pages. * From the jacket flap, "". . . With homely wit and a traditional New England attitude of restraint it [the book] deals with such favorite subjects as town meetings, taverns, maple sugar, female seminaries, ships, fishing, lighthouses, graveyards, New England mountains, forests, and weather. . .""
