Sobre este artículo

Frederick Warne and Co.,, 1862.. hardcover. Collectable, acceptable. Acceptable/Poor. This is the 27th (1889) edition/printing, original large (10"x8.5") oblong format, red cover with elaborate gold lettering on cover with small human figures hanging on the letters, black border design. CONDITION: Cover worn but front cover still attractive, otherwise very heavy wear; cover separated from textblock, binding very loose and many pages are loose; pages appear to have been bound out of sequence with a large block from the center at the end; many page edges worn and ragged; upper right corner of pages 82 to end missing approximately 2" chip that has been worn away; last couple of page have large tear. Text is clean and unmarked; all pages are present. So, this is a complete but very flawed example of this classic work to be read and appreciated in its original format. Sinopsis

Edward Lear (1812 - 1888) was an English writer of nonsense, the most famous piece of which is The Owl and the Pussycat. He is also credited with popularizing the limerick, though there was some speculation as to whether his patron, the Earl of Derby, simply used Lear as a pseudonym for his own writings. Lear was also a successful illustrator and even spent some time tutoring Queen Victoria in drawing before his improper behaviour had him thrown out of court.
