Stated 'First Edition.' 1964 by Holt, Rinehart, & Winston. Ex-library with usual marks. Jacket Very Good; price clipped; protected in library mylar. Dust jacket has sticker which proclaims 'Holt Library Edition.' Cover handsome, printed with same image of a page and maiden on a white horse as on dust jacket. Top and bottom of cover show rubbing and sunning from not being protected by the mylar. Inside front and back covers show yellowed patches where mylar was formerly tape to cover. Front endpaper has a circulation record still pasted on. Pages clean and unmarked except for scattered library stamps and two pages acid-tanned from the presence of a bookmark. Binding strong. Sinopsis
The Book of Three is the first of Lloyd Alexander's five-part novel series The Chronicles of Prydain. Inspired by Welsh mythology, it follows the adventures of Taran, a boy in the care of the enchanter Dallben, as he enters manhood while fighting the forces of the evil Arawn Death-Lord.
