Illustrated throughout. A collection of adventure stories of travel and wanderings. With chapters on exploring castles, adventures in the woods, moorland and mountain walks, journeys at sea, unknown lands, and much more. Written by William Gordon Stables, a Scottish-born medical doctor in the Royal Navy and a prolific author of adventure fiction, primarily for boys. In the original pictorial cloth binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and light fraying to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd small mark to the boards. Very small splits to the cloth at the front joint. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with age toning to the endpapers. Small puncture marks to the front endpaper, leaving an impression through pages 1-11. Printing press label to the rear pastedown. Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
