Hardcover. maps, b&w illustrations. pp. xxvi, 353.,Royal 8vo.,The deluxe edition, bound in half vellum over royal blue cloth,A title in the Yale Editions of The Private Papers of James Boswell. A few light scuff marks to boards and a former owner's name on the inside of the front board; else clean, tight, and in very good, to near fine condition. Accompanying slipcase is sunned at spine, moderately worn, and lightly soiled, else in good condition. Only 1,000 copies of the deluxe edition were printed, and then the type was distributed. This is copy number 658, in slipcase.
