Pp. iv, 224. 41 highly attractive hand-coloured plates, some heightened with gum arabic, the plates numbered 43-83, each featuring five separate species. Original green-coated end papers; top edge gilt. Contemporary quarter green morocco with green cloth covered boards. Bindings good and strong, leather faded to tan on the spine and rubbed to joints, very slightly chipped to the head/tails of the spine. Contents clean and tight, unmarked; plates bright and fresh; no inscriptions. A very good copy. [Bibliographic note: originally published in 13 volumes from1825-1851, with just four species per plate; this a later printing in a significantly larger format featuring five species per plate and published in six volumes concurrently in 1878, this being vol. II.].
