Sobre este artículo

Robert Hale Ltd, London, 1975. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Near Fine Condition/Near Fine. It is more than likely that when Shakespeare was writing Macbeth he had in mind the most notorious case of witchcraft in Scottish history - no less than a series of attempts to kill James VI by magic. Connected with the witches who concocted these schemes in the churchyard of North Berwick and elsewhere was Francis Stewart, Fifth Earl of Bothwell, cousin to the King and godson of Mary Queen of Scots. Did he consider himself, as has been seriously suggested, to be an incarnation of the Devil? Or was his trial for witchcraft an attempt by James to frame a man who by his repeated attempts to kidnap his sovereign had given the impression that he was a rival for the throne? Size: Octavo (standard book size). 205 pages. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Dust Jacket is in as new condition, apart from normal shop shelf wear - contains no tears or chips or other damage, now in archive acetate film protection. Dust Jacket un-clipped. Gilt titles spine. black cloth; illustrated by b/w. map; drawings & photo's.. Includes bibliography & index. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo.
